MUSIC LESSONS

Most lessons are geared toward musicians that eventually would like to perform, either solo or in a group. Emphasis is on theory, timing, technique, and memorization. Keyboard-generated back-up tapes are used as practice aids.

COST: Students that show up EVERY week at a pre-arranged time pay $20.00 per lesson. This pays for 40 minutes. Other arrangements are available. (Call to discuss.)

GUITAR
All popular styles, electric or acoustic, from beginning to advanced. Emphasis is on theory, ear training, and memorization. Popular songs are used as examples. Students may bring recordings of songs they would like to learn.

BASS
Electric or stand-up, most styles. Emphasis is on theory and creating your own bass parts with chord progressions.

BLUEGRASS GUITAR
Bluegrass Guitar Lessons. Emphasis is on technique, timing, and learning a standard repertoire for playing with other musicians. Theory and improvisation for those who would like to play on a more professional level.

FIDDLE
Fiddle Lessons. Old time, Bluegrass, Rock, Cajun, and Irish. Tunes are taught by ear using tapes. Theory as it becomes applicable for playing back-up.

MANDOLIN
Mandolin Lessons. Old time, Bluegrass, and Irish. Tunes are taught by ear using tapes. Back-up playing is emphasized.

BANJO
Banjo Lessons. 5-string Bluegrass style. Emphasis is on back-up playing first (chord inversions, etc.) then improvisation and selected solos. Play-along tapes are used.

SONGWRITERS RECORDING STUDIO
I arrange, engineer, play, and produce professional demo and commercial recordings. Depending upon complexity, most finished songs cost between $150.00-$400.00 (including mixdown to D.A.T.). This is a fraction of the cost of hiring a studio, engineer, and separate musicians. Samples and references are available. Base rate is $35.00 per hour.

PERFORMANCE CONSULTING
For group and/or individual. Professional management advice without the cost of a full-time manager. Performance critiques, band analysis, and objective insight on making money in the music business or to get you to that next level
